DIVIDENDS MAGAZINE
This is the start of recruitment, where students get an understanding of life at JMSB, recruitment season, and get to know the main employers in the accounting field. A digital copy of the Dividends Magazine will be sent to them.
WORKSHOPS
The workshops will be held throughout the semesters, where students will be able to learn how to enhance some of the essential soft skills and other useful information needed outside of school such as Recruitment 101 and Networking 101.
WELCOME WEEK
Welcome Week is an event in the first couple of weeks where we bridge the gap between students and the JMAS team. During this team, the Accounting Student Handbook is distributed to students and all of them are encouraged to attend our events
CPA RECRUITMENT COCKTAIL
Biggest recruitment event for accounting students looking to be recruited during the next year. This year, the event will be done in collaboration with four other universities in the greater Montreal area. This is an excellent opportunity to match students and firms together.
FIRST YEAR EVENT
An event tailored to first-year students, allowing them to mingle with other new students in accountancy. Games, drinks, and fun prizes make for a relaxed and fun time and a great way to meet the JMAS team and learn about opportunities available to them.
INDUSTRY COCKTAIL
Students will purchase a ticket to find amazing opportunities and future careers in the industry sector. Many industry employers partake in this event and are very eager to share what their company has to offer.
CPA FOR A DAY
CASE COMPETITION
Students from different majors in their first or second year solve a case about your company. The case contains multiple accounting topics and is presented in front of a panel of company representatives, JMSB Alumni, and faculty members. The winners win the chance to shadow a CPA professional for a day.
MID-SIZED FIRM EVENT
Recruitment Event focusing on all the Firms aside from Big 4. Additional recruitment event to all JMSB ACCO students to interact with a wider array of firms.
TAX CLINIC
JMAS & over 200 volunteers work together to provide over 400 free income tax returns to low-income families and individuals. For the first time ever JMAS will be hosting an online and in-person Tax Clinic.
